Christine Winmar

aborigine artChristine is a Noongar woman from the South West of Western Australia, her skin name is Allawah, an Aboriginal word meaning "Stay here".
She has been painting for many years and learnt from her father who was himself a renowned artist and didgeridoo craftsman, he taught many aspect and techniques that is reflected in her work today.
Christine also spent a few years in the Kimberley whereby she developed some style and techniques used in this region. Christine uses media such as canvas, pottery, wood and glass.
In 1987 she began to sell works through an Aboriginal art Gallery in Perth.
In 1989 she held her first exhibition along with Mingie Barnes, Geoff Lindsey and Tjinanginy in Perth.
During 1990 Christine had the opportunity to exhibit her works with a number of artist in the “Colour of Australia” exhibition held in Perth later that year she travel to San Francisco.

Jeff Roberts

aborigine art Jeff Roberts is from Gnowangerup, South of Albany, Noongar man of the Wiloman people of the South West of Western Australia.
Jeff started painting in 1986, his style is traditional, but unique and inspired by the Dreamtime stories of his people. Jeff came to live in Perth, five years ago.

Whitney Montana Anderson

I've been taught dot painting by my aunty Jo -Anne Newland my dad sister who also works with Clinton Smith (Yongu). My hobbies include art, all kind of sport, playing the piano and reading. I love learning new things especially about my culture, and hope that some day in the near future be acknowledged for my work.

Joanne Parfitt - BUNGJAAN

My name is Joanne Parfitt, my Nyoongar Artist name is Bungjaan
I am a Nyoongar woman belonging to the metropolitan area
through links of birth and ancestral connections.
I have strong cultural links to the Bassendean area through my deceased dad who lived in the area in the 1930's.
My grandfather lived in Eden Hill and was a soldier in the Gallipoli War.
I became interested in Arts many years ago, which I believe steams from my childhood of seeing my family doing bark painting.
I began to watch and learn from the old people and have now developed my own style. I prefer to use acrylics and most of my art are a reflection of my culture, family, land, and indigenous animals I paint on numerous textures from the river-stones, canvas, bowls, glass ware, plates and what ever materials are available. I have been involved with several's murals theme based on the Aboriginal Culture. The Murals are at Lockridge primary School, Medina Primary school and Trandy primary school. I have been involved in teaching Aboriginal Art to students at Belmont Primary school.

Clinton Smith - YONGA

aborigine artClinton Smith is an Aboriginal Artist also known as Yonga. He is born in the bush land near Wagin, South of West Australia the 2nd March 1973. Clinton is a Noongar man from Bibulum / Bennolong Tribe on his maternal side And from his paternal side Noongar from Kangang Tribe.
Clinton shares his time between Kalgoorlie region and Perth. Some of his projects included workshops for Eastern Goldfields Senior High School, Marku Stadium, Freefall Theatre, Public Murals
His Artwork includes dot painting, murals, rock art, bark paintings, landscapes, Didgeridoos painting, animal artifacts, spears, woomeras and other hunting weapons. Clinton main preoccupation is to use his art and skills to help Aboriginal people in desperate circumstances such as street kids. Assisting to address the problems of "at risk youth" by offering real and practical Solutions by teaching and learning traditional Aboriginal Culture, with its diversity and avenues of self identity, heritage and life skills. Clinton plays the didgeridoo and also is a Dreamtime Story Teller. He has been given permission by his Elders to paint Dreamtime Stories Dreaming Child...Desert Dot Art... from the Heart ...

Darren Everett

Fred Dickerson is a Yamatji man from a Tribe of the Carnavon Region. Part of the stolen generation he has been educated by a Scottish woman. He reconnected with his Aboriginal roots through his art. Fred loves literature and his dream his to write.

Beverley Egan

Beverley is an Aboriginal artist living and working in Perth. She attended primary school in Tardun, then moved to Perth to complete her studies. Beverley is currently painting didgeridoos, ceramics and canvas. Loretta is a member of the Yamatji tribe. Her family is from the Murchison region.

Loretta Egan

Loretta is an Aboriginal artist, living and working in Perth. She is born in Carnavon and completed her schooling at St. Norbets in Perth. When staying in Central Australia she was given the permission to paint traditional Dreamtime stories some which date back to approx. 40000 years ago. Loretta is a member of the Yamatji tribe and speaks the Wadjardi language.

Billy Po

Billy has done didge's since the early 90, very unique art with deep burning and intricate matting designs. He loves burning and carving his didge's. Billy spent many years in Muttaburra, Central West of Australia.
